The Balinese have once again proved their versatility and creative spirit- marrying Western motifs with indigenous materials. Spend a few hours with our master carvers crafting wonderful bamboo objects- like dragonflies that float on a pinpoint of contact between insect and earth. The carved forms are simple and spare; a minimalist approach that is a far cry from the traditional Balinese ‘Baroque’ art that pervades the island. Take a half day and challenge yourself to carve your own bamboo art work; and when you return home, you’ll want to stain or paint your new art piece as a final touch!
